The students have been working very hard on completing their 6th grade portfolio. Since the portfolio is related to what they have learned in 6th grade and how they can incorporate it into their future, we encourage the students to practice professionalism. With this we ask that students dress in a professional manner. Please no gym clothes, sweat pants, and clothes with holes. Presentations will be this Friday, April 28th. We are excited to see the students' accomplishments.

In an effort to help students practice setting goals and achieving them we have been working with our classes to set behavior goals. Together we determined an achievable dojo point goal to attend our sixth grade Christmas party. Please check with your child to see what their goal is and have daily conversations on how they are progressing towards it. We are cheering for them to be successful and join us at our party!! We know they can do it!!
This Friday, November 11th, is the end of the first trimester. Report cards will go out on Friday, November 18th.
So much information is covered and learned in sixth grade. That is why our policy for redo assignments is to have it done within a week of when it is returned to the student. The purpose of redo assignments is to help students understand the concepts being taught at that time. This goes for late assignments as well. When a homework assignment is turned in weeks late it causes us to not catch some problems until well after the concept has been taught. Please help us continue to work with your students on responsibility and getting assignments turned in on time.
As of October 17th, we will no longer be accepting late assignments or redo assignments from the month of September. Grades are now being entered in Family Link. This is a great place for you to be able to consistently check how your student is doing in school and if they are completing their work. If you need your login information please email your child's teacher. Follow the link below for family link.
If you have not sent in your form or received an emailed link for parent teacher conferences please use the link below to sign up for a date. You will only need to sign up for one time slot. All 6th grade teachers conference in the same room, so you will be able to meet with all of us if need be.
Just a friendly reminder that the students in Mrs. Ryan's and Mrs. Kajkowski's math class will have a quick math test to check for understanding of what has been taught so far. Mr. Pletcher's class will have one coming soon:)
Our 6th grade classes will be using an online program called class dojo to track positive and negative behavior in the classroom. We will also be able to share what we are working on in the classrooms. Once you join our class you will be able to check your child's progress anytime. Another great feature is the ability for us to send messages. If you have not already signed up, please use the information sheet that we have sent home with your child to create a class dojo account. There is also an app for your phone if that is easier.
Please fill out this parent survey if you did not get the chance to at open house. Thank you!
If you were unable to make it to open house you can download the 6th grade welcome letter here. This letter will give you all the information you need about expectations, attendance, homework, and so much more.
